Lithia or Reverview area of Florida?

We need to be in The Lithia area of Florida for 3 days over Xmas. I only find 2 campgrounds...1-Lithia Springs County Park and 2-Rice Creek RV Resort. I will have the 3 gradkids so any 55+ CG is no going to work. Suggestions on these 2 campgrounds or others will help. IF nothing is avalable then maybe a hotel in the area? Thanks.

RE: What are your plans for '09??

We have reservations for Jan-Feb 09 in Vietnam for Oriental New Years, then in May 09 for a 10 day trip to KY to visit friends. Other than that just one weekend a month at a close by place the rest of the year.

RE: Any RV Park recommendations for Melbourne Florida area?

Just north of there is Space Coast RV, stayed there a few times back a couple of years ago. Heated pool, beauty shop, and close to shopping.

RE: Ford and GM top execs refuse salary cut!

4*phun*2
I lived your story 8 years ago. As a Cost Accountant I was to use a Process called Activity Based Costing to determine waste within the company. After a month I submitted the report with recommendations. Mangement then hired an outside company to do the same thing.... It took them 2 months and they presented the same results. Management did not like the results and refused to take action. Two years later as a result of no action the company had to let folks go to make payroll. IT MIGHT BE FUNNY,IF THIS WEREN'T TRUE.

RE: Ford and GM top execs refuse salary cut!

You don't think the king is going to lower his standards to the commoners standards do you? You need the 30 Million to just survive in their world. The house payment of 55,000 a month, the utilities of 20,000 monthly the cost of cooks, butlers, hair dressers, maids, and those other servants 100,000 a month. Oh yes the trips (business) to Europe, India, Asia and where ever else.... they must stay at the best hotels (3,000 a night), or buy homes (5,000,000) in these countries so that they can WORK while there. You know WORK on the golf course of the private club with membership fees of 2,000 a month (if you are there or not), and cocktail parties to build the business and the flying of other wealthy folks to the private island to join you on the private jets. How about the flight from NY to Europe for a breakfast meeting with the other VP's of the company. You do not understand this as you are not in the same CLASS as they are. They eat stake and you eat McD's. You are all just jealous of us that have everything and want more. And this is not just one King, you have 3 Kings here, but there are numerous KINDS out there.

RE: How can I improve fuel mileage with a Ford V-10?

Dean,
Just drive/coast down hill more and you will improve the milage (JUST KIDDING).
I have a V10 E450 and yes driving slower 55-60 will help. We get about 8 MPG towing or not and I do not see any thing that will help raise that. Sorry, but it is a box.

RE: Economy Downturn

Well if you still owe on the house, then you need to continue to make the payments unless someone stops buy and wants to buy it. YOu can always put a sign in the yard "FOR SALE". If you can still pay the house and go full time, that is what I think I would do. Close it down and travel for a while. I agree that it will be 4-5 years for the recovery, if it ever does. Rememebr this is not just US it is the world that is in this trouble.

RE: Going "camping" - pull a TOAD or rent a car locally?

I think it depends on where you are going how long you stay and what you will be doing. There is no "right" answer I have a 2008 Chevy Colorado....well equipped....Automatic tranny, 4 down. BlueOX baseplate and Falcon towbar and will normally take it. The reason is we like to explore the area we are in and we are normally only there over a weekend. I tried to rent but the timing is not good for us. We get to a campground on a Friday after 5pm and the rental car places are closed or they do not want to come pick you up that late. Then to turn the car in on a Sunday is not possible, we have to leave it at the rental place and hope no damage occurs. Using a towed was the answer for us.

RE: coachmen freedom express FX31IS

I looked at this model last year and again the begaining for this year. The differences on the ones that were at CW in St Augustine was, Jacks, Number Bed, Leather vs cloth sofa, and a few other small things. The difference between the upscale and the regular was about $25K. The thing I just could not get around so did not buy it was the kitchen sink. I just could not stand the little round sink, even for a weekender unit.

What am I doing wrong?

I have the Falcon 2 Tow Bar attached to the Blue Ox system. When I hook up it is very easy to slide the latch pins into the proper holes and lock them over....but every time I try to un-hook it is very hard to get the pins to pull out. I normally have to hit it with a hammer then the other side slide out with ease. I park on level ground and it is still hard to pull the pins.... suggestions.

RE: GM & FORD stock purchase worth the gamble ?

I would not do it. Even if the government bails them out they will most likely just spend the money again and have to ask for a bigger handout. JMHO.
